Why families book
Because pets are family, and their portraits deserve more than a folder on your phone.
Inspired by Mia, every session is built around preserving the bond you never want to forget.
Our mission
About Jeremy
Distinguished Paws Studio was created after Jeremy lost his cat, Mia, and realized he did not have portraits that truly matched the love they shared. That experience shaped a business focused on helping pet parents preserve personality, connection, and memory through meaningful artwork.
The approach is compassionate, structured, and personal. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, reactive, senior, or nearing the end of a chapter, the goal is the same: create something beautiful that feels honest to who they are.

Services
Sessions are designed to feel calm and personal, not rushed. We photograph your pet in a meaningful location, guide you through the process, and help you choose artwork that fits your home and your story.

$650 session retainer

A calm, structured approach with time to settle in.
For senior pets
Gentle legacy sessions focused on comfort and meaning.
For families
You can absolutely be in the portraits too — if you want to.
Designed around your pet's comfort
Every session is guided with patience, acclimation time, and a safety-first approach. We never force a stressed animal through a setup. If your pet needs a break, we take one. If they need the whole session to warm up, that's fine too.
Acclimation-first approach with extra time built in. No rushing, no pressure.
Cat sessions are photographed in-home or in-studio only — where they feel safest.
Sessions at your barn or a location your horse already knows and trusts.
Cautious, gentle handling with sessions paced entirely around your pet's comfort and energy.
Planning is tailored to each animal's needs. We work through introductions, pacing, and groupings so everyone stays comfortable.
The experience
This is not a rushed, high-volume session. Every step is designed to reduce stress, create better portraits, and help you end up with artwork you will actually enjoy seeing every day.
A relaxed conversation about your pet, your home, and what you want to remember most. This is where we decide if we're the right fit.
We choose the right location, talk through pacing, and plan around your pet's personality, comfort, and any special needs.
Your session is calm, structured, and tailored so your pet can settle in and be themselves. No rushing, no forcing — just patience and genuine moments.
About two weeks after your session, we meet in person or on Zoom to view your images together. You'll choose your favourites and we'll design your artwork during this appointment.
Your finished wall art, albums, or keepsakes are professionally produced and delivered ready to display in your home.
Why Distinguished Paws Studio
The heart behind Distinguished Paws Studio started with Mia and the regret of not having portraits that truly reflected that bond. That experience now shapes a process built on empathy, patience, and meaningful finished artwork.
Pets are family, and their stories deserve to live on in a way you can see, feel, and remember every day.
Your pet's personality and your bond stay at the center of every image, so the final artwork feels personal instead of generic.
You get clear guidance before, during, and after the session, with a pace that respects your pet and keeps the experience enjoyable.
These portraits are designed to live on your walls and in your albums, not disappear into a phone gallery.
